Program Sponsor

The Sandy Hook Promise Foundation Mobile Messaging Program is sponsored and operated by Sandy Hook Promise Foundation, a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

These Mobile Messaging Terms and Conditions apply only to messages sent by Sandy Hook Promise Foundation. They do not apply to any separate affiliated organization or 501(c)(4) entity.

Program Description

By opting in, you agree to receive recurring automated RCS and SMS messages from Sandy Hook Promise Foundation. Messages may include violence-prevention resources, program and organizational updates, event information, opportunities to support our mission, and fundraising and donation requests.

Donation messages may include links directing you to a secure, externally hosted donation page. Sandy Hook Promise Foundation will not ask you to submit credit card numbers, bank account information, or other payment credentials through an RCS or SMS conversation.

Consent

You may enroll through an online form, mobile form, keyword, or another clearly disclosed opt-in method. By providing your mobile phone number and completing the opt-in process, you consent to receive the messages described above at the number provided.

Consent is not required to make a purchase or donation. Your consent applies only to Sandy Hook Promise Foundation’s mobile messaging program.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. The number and frequency of messages you receive may depend on your interactions with Sandy Hook Promise Foundation, current programs, events, and fundraising campaigns.

Message and Data Rates

Sandy Hook Promise Foundation does not charge a fee for participating in the program. Message and data rates may apply according to the terms of your wireless service plan. Contact your wireless carrier for information about your messaging and data plan.

Opt-Out Instructions

You may unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP to any message. You may also text STOP to 79775.

After submitting an opt-out request, you may receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that confirmation, you will no longer receive messages from this program unless you opt in again.

Supported Devices and Delivery

RCS availability depends on your device, messaging application, wireless carrier, and network availability. When RCS is unavailable, a message may be delivered as SMS or MMS.

Wireless carriers do not guarantee message delivery. Sandy Hook Promise Foundation and participating carriers are not responsible for delayed, incomplete, or undelivered messages. T-Mobile and other wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy and Data Use

Information collected in connection with the program may include your mobile phone number, wireless carrier, device or messaging-channel information, opt-in and opt-out records, and the date, time, and content of messages.

Sandy Hook Promise Foundation may use this information to operate the mobile messaging program, provide requested information, respond to inquiries, maintain consent records, and communicate about its programs and mission.

Mobile opt-in data and consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information may be shared with service providers solely as necessary to operate the messaging program or when required by law.

Donations

Participation in the mobile messaging program does not require a donation. Any decision to donate is voluntary.

When a message includes a donation request, the donation will be completed through a secure webpage outside the RCS or SMS conversation. The donation page will provide the applicable payment, tax-deductibility, and transaction information before the donation is completed.

Sandy Hook Promise Foundation does not collect or process payment-card or banking credentials within mobile messages.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to participate in the program. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate.

Changes to These Terms

Sandy Hook Promise Foundation may update these Mobile Messaging Terms and Conditions periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued participation in the program following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
